Remembering Ronald John Blair Pifer 'Ron'

Passed away at Soldier’s Memorial hospital on Tuesday April 11, 2017 with his loving family at his side after a courageous battle with ALS. Ron Pifer of Orillia, son of the late Helene & Wilfred Pifer, survived by his loving wife Beth of 55 years.  Dear father of Jacqui Webb (John), Rebecca Hoene (Rob) and Derek Pifer (Christina). Cherished grandpa of Rob, Aysia & Jada.  Loving brother of Wayne Pifer & sister-in-law Lou (pre-deceased), brother Willard (pre-deceased) & sister-in-law June Everton and sister-in-law Yvonne and brother-in-law Don Appleton.  Ron will be missed by many nieces & nephews.  Ron was President and Secretary of A.C.T., canvassed for the Heart & Stroke and was active in many sports over the years & coached minor hockey.  He loved his canine companion Annie, golf and the Montreal Canadians.  Thanks to all our friends, neighbours and family for all their kind words, help and support.  The family will receive relatives and friends at the Doolittle Chapel of Carson Funeral Homes, 54 Coldwater St. E., Orillia, (705) 326-3595 on Monday April 17, 2017 from 6-9 P.M. The funeral service will be held at the Emmanuel Baptist Church, 300 Coldwater Rd. W., Orillia, on Tuesday April 18, 2017 at 1 o’clock. Interment to follow at St. Andrew’s St. James’ Cemetery, Orillia. Ron planned to help raise money for the June 10th ALS walk in Barrie,  in lieu of flowers memorial donations to the ALS Society would be greatly appreciated by his family.
