Remembering David Bruce Chance

David Chance of Orillia, formerly of Woodstock, Ont., died Oct. 19 at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital at the age of 69. Son of the late Bruce and Maureen Chance, he was predeceased by his wife, Irene (2007), and grandson Dana (2006). He is survived by his sister, Barbara; his son Damian; his son Dana and daughter-in-law, Merrie; his stepdaughters, Susan, Jennifer and Sara; and his grandchildren: Demitrius, Simon, Zander, Vallery, Magdalena and Micheal. David’s kind heart and sense of humour will also be remembered by his cousins and by his good friends in Woodstock and Orillia. A mechanic by trade, he was also a beekeeper, a biker, a martial artist, a herbalist, a squash enthusiast and a philosopher. The family wishes to thank Dr. Kathleen Michalski for her kindness and support and for taking such good care of David over the years. Thanks also to Dr. James Campbell, the nursing staff on C-5 at Soldiers’ Memorial and the staff at the Atrium Retirement Residence. Cremation has taken place, and in keeping with David’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. As a tribute to his memory, be kind to one another, be kind to yourself and cherish the day.
