Peacefully with his family by his side at Royal Victoria Hospital on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at the age of 86.
Loving husband of Janice for 60 years. Cherished father of Blake (Irene Bayko) and Andrea (David Richards). Paul will be fondly remembered by his brother Donald (Judi), sister-in-law Lyn Collis (Larry deceased) as well as his many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Family and friends will be received at St. Mark’s Anglican Lutheran Church, 307 Third Street Midland on Saturday, February 13, 2016 for visitation from 12:00 Noon and funeral service at 1:30 pm.
Paul was born in Goderich, graduated from Pickering College followed by a 47 year career with Imperial Oil which brought him to Midland in 1956 where he and Janice raised their family. Paul was a dedicated Rotarian and Paul Harris Fellow. He enjoyed a life-long love of sailing and the sea which took him from tagging along on a fishing schooner on Lake Huron to a summer job in the merchant marine during WW II to sailing his own schooner with friends and family on Georgian Bay.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Carson Funeral Homes Midland, Ontario (705) 526-6551. Memorial donations to St. Mark’s Anglican Lutheran Church or the CNIB Simcoe Muskoka would be appreciated by the family.
