Remembering Joseph Colautti

Joe passed away peacefully at his home in Orillia on Nov 2nd at the age of 85. Loving husband to his late wife of 56 yrs, Rachel (Giganti), Mother Maria, Father Pietro and siblings Luigi, John and Rita. He is survived by his children, Peter (Cathy), Rosemarie (David), Joseph (Virginia) and nephew Steve Bortolussi. He will be forever missed by his grandchildren Peter (Kristin), Nicole (Kevin), John, Annahmarie (Greg), Robyn, Shawn (Tiffiny), Jennifer (Dustin), Jason (Kesha), Dana (Joe), Caitlin (Charlie), and great granddaughter - precious little Hailey. Special mention to his relatives of the Giganti family of St. Catharines and surrounding area, the Colautti family in both Windsor and Italy and to the compassionate Dr. Mary Cambridge. Joe lived most of his life in St. Catharines. He was the proud founder and owner of Alcopa Construction and St. Catharines Marina, which developed into the second largest marina in Ontario. Those fortunate to know the character of Joe, acknowledge that integrity was the foundation of how he lived and loved. Foremost was his devotion and pride for his family. We will miss his feisty and colourful personality that was the life at every party. We celebrate an accomplished, passionate man, whose generosity is treasured by many. Today we toast in his memory with his favourite song, "I did it my Way." His final resting place will be in his place of birth, San Vito al Tagliamento, Pordenone Italy. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to the Autism Society, Salvation Army or Princess Margaret Hospital. Arrangements entrusted to the Doolittle Chapel of Carson Funeral Homes, 54 Coldwater St. E., Orillia, (705) 326-3595.
