Peacefully at the Hospice Simcoe, Barrie in his 87th year. Norman Roe of Oro, beloved husband of Marjorie Roe (nee Reid). Loving father of Randy (Lynda) of Oro, Rhonda (Tony Milley) of P.E.I., Reta (Henry Regelink) of Oro, Roberta (Mike Gaudet) of P.E.I., Russell (Colleen) of Orillia and Robin (Pam) of Orillia. Predeceased by his siblings, Orval, Reta, Thomas, Leslie, Jessie, Harriet, Dick & Elsie. Will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews. Norm was a lifelong resident of Oro Township. He lived his whole life on the family farm where he raised his six children. He spent his working career employed by the Ministry of Transportation with the Roads Department. Norm loved to share stories of the many changes to the Highways and Vehicle traffic. He was happy to retire at the age of Fifty Five, to travel and explore Canada with his loving wife of 64 years, “Marjorie”. Norm was a physical worker all his life, never one to read books or watch T.V. He enjoyed cutting grass, cutting wood, planting and tending to his large garden, enjoying nature and ice fishing. We will all miss him. The family will receive friends at the Doolittle Chapel of Carson Funeral Homes, 54 Coldwater St. E. Orillia on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. Funeral service in the chapel on Thursday morning April 30, 2015 at 11 o’clock. Interment Knox Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations to the Hospice Simcoe or the Esson Presbyterian Church would be appreciated by the family.
