Remembering Lois Sherwin (nee Mitchell)

It is with heavy hearts and sadness that the family of Lois Sherwin, beloved wife of Rev. William Sherwin, of Orillia, announce her peaceful passing at Spencer House, Orillia, on Friday March 13, 2015 in her 89th year. She was the loving mother of Ruth Schneider (Wolf) of Calgary, John Sherwin (Kelly) of Welland and Robert Sherwin predeceased. She was also deeply loved by her grandchildren Matthew, Heather, Katie, Pamela, Christopher, Lauren, Keith, Kathleen, by her 11 great grandchildren and by her daughters-in-law Debbie and Dawn. She was predeceased by her brother Elwood Mitchell. Lois touched many lives with her kind, giving heart and warm, loving hugs. She loved spending time with her family and friends and enjoying nature, especially summers at Eagle Lake. She will be fondly remembered for her warmth, compassion, her desire to help others in her community and her strong faith in the Lord who has called her home. The family will receive friends at St. Paul’s United Church, 62 Peter St. N., Orillia, on Monday March 30, 2015 from 11 A.M until time of funeral service at 1 o’clock. Interment to follow at St. Andrew’s St. James’ Cemetery, Orillia. If desired, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society or to the Mission & Service Fund of St. Paul’s United Church, Orillia would be appreciated. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. David Collins and the Staff at Spencer House for all their wonderful support over the last 10 months.
