Remembering George Sophie

(Former Member of The Knights of Columbus in Scarborough, Long Time Employee of Crouse Hinds, Member of St. Columbkille’s Church) Passed peacefully at Spencer House in Orillia on Friday September 12, 2014 in his 99th year. George, loving husband of the late Dorothy, will be sadly missed by his daughter Judith Sophie-Sinclair and her husband Ian Sinclair, by his grandchildren Brent, Craig, Neal (Monique), Darren, Jennifer, and Ryan (J-Lee), and by his great grandchildren Kyle, Brooke, Oliver, Addyson, Marco & Milanna. George will be missed by his niece Joan, and by his daughter-in-law Shirley Sophie (John), and by his dear friend Shirley Simpson. George is predeceased by his son Bryan, and by his daughter Patricia. George loved to socialize with family and friends and to travel the world with his wife Dorothy. The family will receive friends at the Doolittle Chapel of Carson Funeral Homes, 54 Coldwater St. E. Orillia, (705) 326-3595 on Thursday September 18, 2014 from 11:30 A.M. till 1:30 P.M. Then to St. Columbkille’s Roman Catholic Church, Uptergrove for Mass of Christian Burial at 2 o’clock. Interment at St. Columbkille’s Cemetery. If desired donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
